so while hr 1207 is making waves at daily kos and politico (find your own links!) i have been reading about california releasing inmates due to the budget crisis and netanyahu talk about iran. some are saying august or september at the latest…
so cannot remember if i posted the story about how they were battling to keep information off wikipedia but it makes me think about the tent city stuff happening out west and wonder what else has been going on recently besides michael jackson’s death. not that it even has to be bad news.
anyways, this blog post was really supposed to about how i was trying to figure out if the basis adjusted for year two after i did a 50% depreciation and… then i realized it was straight-line. thanks.
so he jacked my template, oh well.

so the metro crashed a couple weeks ago (or i guess that was only last week actually…wow), which is really unfortunate. even more unfortunate is metro claimed its hands were tied.

so my cousin turned twenty-six sunday, congrats congrats. i was actually reading a book this weekend about the mind, apparently in some cultures they start counting at conception, so you are considered ‘one’ at birth.
watched a most uninspiring documentary this weekend, disc 2 of ‘what we want, what we believe in’ about the bpp. really couldn’t knock disc 1 but this was footage from a conference about the bpp. a bunch of talking heads going on and on, had to turn it off. i guess after watching tyson nothing is that interesting anymore.
thought this article was interesting, keeping information off wikipedia. what is that phrase, who watches the watchers? anyway, had me thinking about madoff this afternoon, getting 150 years, how he is the perfect scapegoat. what about the other fraud that occurs on a daily basis? the same way the sec mishandled oversight, what about the fda? i can only imagine the pharmaceutical companies getting over in that arena.
got my phone back today, thanks!

was thinking about card data security; particularly, why data needs to be sent twice when tokenization (the more i learn about it) seems to be a more effective alternative. as tom and i discussed it, i realized i had not stumbled upon the panacea. instead, i was beginning to be reminded of a number of complex forces at play.
thanks tom.
understand what bruce schneier has been saying for years as he answers questions and provides advice. dispose of a false dichotomy.
