Lunch was wonderful today. We got A/P out (Carla reviewed via email since she worked from home in route to Pennsylvania for her grandma’s 80th), and are preparing for audit (finalizing 2009 membership $ & numbers). Anyway…
Had lunch at Stans with Rob, great time. Rob was talking about how the iPhone is a gateway drug, how in just 45 days after getting one he had also picked up an iMac & Macbook; how he has the MLB app and how wonderful it is; and, how .Me allows him to do without Outlook calendar & have his own virtual server. Tom explained how he was experiencing the same thing with his iPod, although he stays duly committed to Linux. Apple was lauded for their customer service (I had no idea you can schedule personal shopping appointments), and we also talked shop about the future of payments now that Apple is opening up iTunes to others to use. We talked briefly about Intuit doing the same thing, allowing customers to bypass the card brands for ACH. What I am wondering is when someone will finally crack the p2p nut. We also of course talked ETA Currents.
Tom had the chicken salad sandwich, Rob had the chicken salad salad & I had tuna salad. At the end, Rob insisted on paying (thanks Rob!). Tom said we had to get together the Friday after SLF & he was paying.
This was a great lunch, cannot wait until October.
