. . . . I suppose the place to start is at the beginning, and the beginning for me was April 8, 1914, and the place of birth was at home, at 108 Fairview Avenue, in Waynesboro, Franklin County, Pennsylvania. My father’s full name was Vernon Elmer Wolfinger. Neither he nor Mother liked that “Elmer” very much, and I don’t know to whom it might be related. . . .
There is more than one harold wolfinger.
The original harold wolfinger was born Harold Johnston Wolfinger, and whose life course indeed proved that “Age is not a deterrent to accomplishment and being active.” Harold Wolfinger, YLS 1939, who began making news in the 1940s, was City Attorney of Prescott, ran for the school board, served as its president, helped establish a pro bono legal program, and once actually argued a case before the United States Supreme Court, among numerous other things.
One of the most amazing things to me about this harold wolfinger is that even though his eyesight deteriorated due to macular degeneration, he continued to practice law, play golf (although i think he gave up ping-pong), and travel. Of course he had a wonderful helpmeet.
Today there are two harold wolfinger: ryan harold wolfinger and harold boyd wolfinger. We are among the grandchildren of harold j wolfinger that also include alisa, rebecca, rachel, jonathan and jessica.
